Boost Mobile eSIM for the USA: %%currentyear%% Guide

You can get a Boost Mobile eSIM with any prepaid plan. Here’s everything you need to know about Boost Mobile plans, pricing, and eSIM activation.

Published: December 30, 2025

Boost Mobile is an American mobile network provider that offers eSIMs with all prepaid plans and eSIM phone contracts. If you’re with Boost Mobile, you can definitely switch from a physical SIM card to an eSIM or activate one as a new user

However, unlike with other providers, things aren’t so straightforward. This blog covers everything you need to know about activating a Boost Mobile eSIM, switching to one, and phone compatibility guidelines. By the end, if you’re still unsure about going forward with a Boost Mobile eSIM, we’ll include a list of alternative eSIM options and an unlimited data travel eSIM from Holafly.

Does Boost Mobile have eSIM?

Yes, Boost Mobile offers eSIMs (embedded SIM) and physical SIM cards for prepaid plans available on their app and official website. The difference between a physical SIM card and an eSIM is that it’s built or embedded directly into your phone. No need to swap US SIM cards when traveling or worry about losing small cards, resulting in a more secure activation.

However, eSIMs are only available on eSIM-compatible phones. You can check your phone’s specifications online or dial *#06#. If a 32-digit EID number pops up on your screen, you have an eSIM-compatible device. Some phones are also dual SIM, which means you can use two eSIMs and/or SIM cards at the same time.

Boost Mobile eSIM plans for locals

Boost Mobile offers three no-contract prepaid phone plans available with eSIMs:

  • Unlimited: Unlimited talk, text, and data with 30 GB of Premium Data for $10/month for the first three months and $25/month after that
  • Unlimited+: Unlimited talk, text, and data with 40 GB of Premium Data for $50/month
  • Unlimited Premium: Unlimited talk, text, and data with 50 GB of Premium Data, global talk and text for $60/month

These plans are available to purchase with a Boost Mobile eSIM.

How to get a Boost Mobile eSIM

If you’re a new Boost Mobile customer, you’ll have to purchase an eSIM on their official website. Choose your desired plan and proceed to check out.

During checkout, you won’t see any options to select an eSIM instead of a physical SIM card. In fact, you’ll probably see that the physical SIM card delivery to your address is “free”. Don’t worry, this won’t affect your ability to activate an eSIM.

If you have an eSIM-compatible phone, you’ll receive a notification on your home screen titled “Boost Cellular Plan Ready” once your line is activated. Open this notification and tap Continue to start your Boost Mobile eSIM activation process.

How to activate a Boost Mobile eSIM on an iPhone

If you have an iPhone, click on the notification titled “Boost Cellular Plan Ready” once your line is activated. You’ll have to click on this notification to install your eSIM profile.

If you can’t find this notification, you can also recover your eSIM profile by heading to your phone’s settings. Under your iCloud profile, tap the notification titled “Boost Cellular Plan Ready” to continue setting it up.

You’ll receive a confirmation message once the Boost Mobile eSIM activation is complete.

How to activate a Boost Mobile eSIM on a Samsung

If you have a Samsung or Android device, follow the same steps and click on the notification titled “Boost Cellular Plan Ready” once your line is activated. You’ll have to click on this notification to install your eSIM profile.

If you can’t find this notification, you can also recover your eSIM profile by heading to your phone’s Settings > Connections > SIM card manager > Add mobile plan.  Your mobile plan will automatically download and activate on the eSIM.

How to install a Boost Mobile eSIM on Google Pixel

The same steps apply to your Google Pixel. Once your line is activated, you’ll receive a notification on your home screen.

If you can’t find the notification or accidentally removed it from your Home Screen, go to your phone’s Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs > Download a new eSIM. Once your mobile plan is automatically downloaded, your new eSIM will be activated.

How to transfer a Boost Mobile physical SIM to eSIM

You can switch your existing Boost Mobile SIM card to an eSIM both on the Boost Mobile app and with the care team.

If you prefer to do it on your own, follow these steps:

  1. Open your My Boost Mobile app.
  2. Select the phone line you want to switch to an eSIM.
  3. Select “Transfer/Restore eSIM”.
  4. Enter your phone’s IMEI number. (Dial *#06# to find your IMEI number).
  5. Select “Activate eSIM”.
  6. Ensure your device is connected to WiFi.
