Holafly

Holafly has rapidly become a go-to option for travellers. It covers over 200 destinations and helps users avoid high roaming charges by offering customizable plans with unlimited data.

Here’s what you can expect from Holafly’s extensive and unique offer.

Pricing

Holafly focuses on unlimited data plans, which vary in duration. There are two types of packages.

  • Pre-set plans: Plans with a pre-set number of days, just like you usually find with most providers.
  • Customizable plans: Holafly allows you to choose how many days (between 1 and 90) you want to use your eSIM.

Most destinations have customizable plans available.

Either way, Holafly data plans start at $9 AUD/day ($6.90 USD), but the daily price decreases for longer plans. For example, an eSIM for the USA costs $102 AUD ($74.90 USD) for 30 days, equaling $3 AUD/day ($2.50 USD).

This pricing is similar for other popular destinations such as the UK, Indonesia, Thailand, and Japan.

Coverage

With a Holafly eSIM, you’ll access the best local networks, ensuring the best 3G/4G/LTE/5G connectivity in 200 destinations worldwide, including cities, countries, and regions, or as many as 113 destinations with the Global package.

Here’s a quick overview of the Holafly coverage:

  • North America: Plan your trip to Mexico, the United States, and Canada with the eSIM for North America.
  • Europe: With coverage in over 40 destinations, the Europe eSIM ensures connectivity in major countries like the UK, Spain, Germany, France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and many more.
  • Latin America: With coverage in 14 countries, the eSIM for Latin America includes coverage in Peru, Colombia, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, and other countries.
  • Asia: The Asia eSIM covers 11 countries, including Japan, the Philippines, South Korea, China, Sri Lanka, and others.
  • Caribbean: The eSIM for the Caribbean has coverage in 17 countries, including Barbados, Dominica, Antigua and Barbuda, Jamaica, Aruba, and others.
  • Africa: The Africa eSIM includes 28 countries and ensures connectivity in Egypt, Cameroon, Madagascar, Morocco, Tunisia, South Africa, and others.
  • Middle East: The eSIM for the Middle East includes coverage in 14 countries, including Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Turkey, and others.

This is a general view of the Holafly eSIM plans, but even if your next destination is not on this list, just browse the website, and you’ll find the ideal data plan for your trip.

Ease of use

Even those who’ve never used eSIMs before find Holafly’s eSIMs easy to use. On top of that, you have stellar customer support at your disposal 24/7, so even if you have any issues, they will be dealt with right away.

  • Customer support: As mentioned in a Trustpilot review, customer support is one of Holafly’s strongest points. Available in 19 different languages and with 24/7 support through different channels, it is also one of the most important features.
  • Installation process: Customers can install and activate an eSIM using a QR code on iOS and Android devices. The app for newer iOS devices has an automatic activation feature, making it easy to use, as mentioned in a Trustpilot review.
  • Choosing a data plan: Holafly makes it easy to purchase a data plan using the website or mobile app. However, the customizable days feature is only available on the website, and on the app, you’ll find data packages starting from 5 to 90 days. Still, as mentioned in a Trustpilot review, it has excellent coverage and connectivity throughout the region.
  • Top-up: Holafly makes it easy to keep using your eSIM even when your initial plan is coming to an end. Add more days to your eSIM using the mobile app or the website.

These features make it obvious that Holafly prioritizes users and does everything to ensure the best possible user experience.

The Holafly installation guides on the app make it much easier for first-time users to install an eSIM.

SimCorner

SimCorner started selling SIM cards for Aussies in 2012, but in recent years, eSIMs have been added to its catalog. It provides coverage in over 150 destinations with different data plans, and it’s also available in the USA, UK, Canada, New Zealand, and Europe, with local websites for each.

Let’s dive into the important details about SimCorner without leaving a stone unturned.

Pricing

SimCorner pricing will vary depending on whether the travellers choose eSIM or SIM options, but we’ll focus solely on eSIMs for a more straightforward comparison.

Also, note that SimCorner is an Australian company, so all prices on their main website are listed in $AUD. If you access SimCorner website from a different region, such as USA, NZ, Canada, or the UK, you’ll be redirected to the local site that will offer prices in the local currencies.

SimCorner limited data plans start at $19 AUD (~$12.98 USD) for an eSIM with 15 GB of mobile data for 8 days to up to $90 AUS (~$59.75) for an eSIM for 28 days with 450 GB of data.

Unlimited data plans start at $27.50 AUD (~$17.86 USD) for 5 days and go up to $247 AUD (~$160.41 USD) for 90 days, but these plans are available only for certain locations, such as the USA and Europe.

Coverage

Even though SimCorner has 150 destinations listed, the eSIM plan is not available for all destinations.

eSIM packages are limited to 131 destinations, and some locations are only available through regional packages, like the Middle East or Europe eSIM. Hence, it’s important to double-check if you can even get an eSIM for the country of your choice.

Additionally, SimCorner doesn’t offer eSIMs for specific cities, and their global eSIM has only one option and offers coverage in 131 destinations.

Ease of use

Let’s talk about how easy or difficult it is to use SimCorner’s options and features.

  • Add-ons: Some eSIM plans include free phone calls and text messages, but as mentioned in a Trustpilot review, these are limited to destinations like the USA, UK, New Zealand, and similar destinations.
  • Clear information on every product: Every eSIM package clearly states what features it includes and how unlimited plans work.
  • Customer support: Even though customer support is not available 24/7, a Trustpilot review mentions it works great and promptly helps customers when needed.

Overall, these are the main features where SimCorner stands out because things get a bit messy when talking about top-ups, ease of navigation, or even browsing on their website.

App

SimCorner does not have a mobile app for Android and iOS devices; you can access its services only through its website.

This complicates SimCorner’s usability because of its website design and how it works on mobile devices. Even though some sections look good, it’s quite difficult to use, as it was obviously not created with mobile devices in mind.

Holafly vs. SimCorner: The verdict

After reviewing what both companies offer, it’s time to choose which is better for Aussie travellers.

Our winner is Holafly. It’s a cost-effective solution with unlimited data plans and coverage in over 200 destinations. Plus, the 24/7 multilingual support, ease of activation, variety of payment methods, and a high-end mobile app make Holafly stand out despite lacking the option for SMS and phone calls.

While SimCorner is a good eSIM option, it’s not the best one in 2025. It lacks a mobile app, doesn’t have 24/7 customer support, and needs to optimize its website for mobile use since there’s no app. Also, being present at only 131 destinations means that their coverage could be better.

So, if unlimited data plans in over 200 destinations sound like your thing, go ahead and choose your next Holafly eSIM for your upcoming trip!
