What is SIMBA roaming?
SIMBA roaming allows you to use your existing SIMBA mobile number abroad for calls, texts, and data. Formerly known as TPG Singapore, SIMBA has evolved into a full-fledged Singapore telco, offering international roaming in over 140 destinations, powered by partnerships with global network providers.
All SIMBA mobile plans include built-in data roaming, with access in countries like Malaysia, Hong Kong, and more. Higher-tier options, such as SuperRoam25, even support in-flight data roaming.
SIMBA roaming countries
SIMBA roaming countries are grouped into six pricing tiers, based on region and data coverage. Roaming is available in over 140 destinations, and each zone determines whether data is included in your plan or charged separately from your SIMBA Wallet.
All SIMBA SIM cards are roam-ready by default, so you can use roaming right away, without needing to configure anything on your device.
Some of the key destinations covered by SIMBA roaming include:
- SIMBA roaming in Malaysia
- SIMBA roaming in China
- SIMBA roaming in Japan
- SIMBA roaming in Thailand
- SIMBA roaming in Indonesia
- SIMBA roaming in APAC

SIMBA roaming plans: Types and prices
SIMBA offers both prepaid and postpaid plans with roaming data in selected destinations. Each plan aligns with SIMBA’s six-zone roaming system, which determines your overseas data allowance and any additional charges.
Since roaming is already active, coverage depends on your plan tier and destination. If your destination isn’t included or you exceed your allowance, charges will be deducted from your SIMBA Wallet at pay-per-use rates.
SIMBA prepaid plans
SIMBA’s prepaid plans cater to high-data users in Singapore, with 30-day validity, unlimited local calls, free SMS to SIMBA numbers, and built-in voice roaming.
Each plan includes roaming data split into two parts: one for 60+ global destinations, and a larger allowance for APAC countries like China, South Korea, and Malaysia.
For instance, the 500GB Plan B offers 10GB for global use (e.g. UK, USA) and 30GB for APAC. The following is an overview of all prices in Singapore Dollars (SGD).
Plan Name | Local Data Plan | Roaming Data | Price |
---|---|---|---|
SuperRoam 10 | 300GB Plan | 3GB (Global) + 12GB (APAC) | $10 / 30 days |
SuperRoam 12 | 500GB Plan | 8GB (Global) + 18GB (APAC) | $12 / 30 days |
SuperRoam 18 | 500GB Plan | 10GB (Global) + 30GB (APAC) | $18 / 30 days |
SuperRoam 20 | 600GB Plan | 12GB (Global) + 50GB (APAC) | $20 / 30 days |
SuperRoam 25 | 700GB Plan | 15GB (Global + In-flight) + 80GB (APAC) | $25 / 30 days |
Note: Roaming data is used in order: Main Data zone → APAC → Group A.
SIMBA postpaid plans
All SIMBA postpaid plans include roaming data, with allowances and zones varying by plan. Data is used in sequence: first from the Main Data zone (e.g. Malaysia, Indonesia), then APAC, and finally Group A. Once exhausted, pay-per-use rates apply, deducted from your SIMBA Wallet.
Plan Name | Local Data Plan | Roaming Data | Price |
---|---|---|---|
SuperRoam10 | 100 GB | 1GB (Group A countries) | $10 / 30 days |
SuperRoam12 | 200 GB | 5GB (Group A countries) | $12 / 30 days |

Seniors (IMDA) | Not stated | Not stated | Subsidised (varies) |
For senior plans, roaming coverage and data caps may differ based on plan type or government subsidy eligibility.
To avoid unexpected charges while travelling, check your plan’s roaming inclusions and track your usage in the SIMBA app.
SIMBA pay-per-use roaming
If you’re travelling without a supported plan or exceed your roaming data, SIMBA charges pay-per-use rates that can escalate quickly, up to $30 per GB in some destinations.
Even light usage from common travel apps like Google Maps or Instagram can trigger high fees. Here’s how SIMBA’s pay-per-use roaming charges break down by destination group.
Pay-per-use Group | Destinations | Rate (from SIMBA Wallet) |
---|---|---|
Group A | ~60 countries (e.g. Japan, Australia, UK, Germany, France) | $4 per GB |
Group B | ~30 countries (e.g. India, UAE, Turkey, New Zealand) | $8 per GB |
Group C | ~20 countries (e.g. South Africa, Egypt, Russia) | $15 per GB |
Group D | ~15 countries (e.g. Brazil, Argentina, Nigeria, Kenya) | $30 per GB |
Once your included roaming quota is used up, these rates apply, and they can consume your balance quickly.

- Enable Airplane Mode when not using your phone.
- Pre-purchase a roaming plan (e.g. SuperRoam18) or top up when needed.
- For worry-free roaming, consider an unlimited data eSIM like Holafly with fixed daily rates.
