What is SIMBA APAC roaming?
SIMBA, formerly known as TPG Singapore, is a local telco that includes international roaming in all its mobile plans. Every SIMBA plan comes with roaming in different regions, with certain plans also including SIMBA China roaming.
SIMBA APAC roaming is the data you can use in selected Asia-Pacific countries, including Malaysia, Thailand, and South Korea. The amount of roaming data varies by plan, ranging from a few gigabytes on entry-level options to larger bundles on higher-tier plans.

How data is applied: Once your main data allowance is exhausted, or when you roam in any of the countries listed above, your usage will be automatically deducted from the SIMBA APAC roaming data allowance, depending on your plan. All SIMBA (e)SIM plans include APAC roaming, so you don’t need a separate add-on to use data in Asia-Pacific countries. Depending on your plan, the amount of APAC roaming data varies.
Prepaid SIMBA APAC roaming price and data allowance
SIMBA prepaid plans are designed for flexibility and short-term use. It’s open to Singapore residents and tourists aged 16 and above, with each prepaid SIM limited to 30 days for passport holders.
Payments are made upfront through the SIMBA Wallet or registered payment methods, and plans will be renewed automatically each cycle.
For users who register prepaid plans with their passports, they can change plans at SIMBA service centres or dealers, including switching to postpaid if they later hold a Singapore-issued ID.

Postpaid SIMBA APAC roaming price and data allowance
SIMBA postpaid plans work on a pay-monthly model and are available only to Singapore citizens, permanent residents, and eligible pass holders, which means they’re not available to tourists.
Payments are billed automatically with the option to top up the SIMBA Wallet for excess charges. If renewal fails, the plan reverts to a restricted Base Plan for up to 21 days before termination.
Postpaid users can manage plans online, but cannot directly switch to prepaid or business plans. Instead, they have access to monthly invoices for usage and billing records, making this plan better suited for long-term and regular users.

SIMBA APAC pay-per-use charges
While SIMBA plans include APAC roaming data, extra usage is charged via pay-per-use rates. With options like the SIMBA SuperRoam12 and SIMBA SuperRoam18 plans, you’ll get an allowance that covers destinations such as Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, China, and South Korea.
Once your APAC roaming data is used up, additional roaming in these countries costs SGD$4 per GB under SIMBA’s pay-per-use tariff.
How to use SIMBA APAC roaming
Wondering how to use SIMBA APAC roaming? It’s actually pretty straightforward! Here’s a quick guide to help you purchase, activate, and use your data roaming service without any hassle:
1. Choose a plan with APAC roaming:
- Head to the SIMBA website or My SIMBA App and pick a plan like the SIMBA SuperRoam12 or SIMBA SuperRoam18.
- Select the eSIM option during checkout if you want a digital SIM at no extra fee. Prepaid users need to pick it up in-store.
2. Get your eSIM ready
- After purchasing, you’ll receive a QR code via email or through the app. Make sure your device is updated, then go to Settings → Mobile Data, tap Add eSIM, and scan the QR code.
- If needed, you can also enter activation details manually
3. Make sure your eSIM is ready for roaming
- Before you travel, activate your SIMBA eSIM while you’re still in Singapore. Once installed, check that data roaming is switched on in your phone settings, your network mode is set to Automatic, and the APN is set to TPG.
- This ensures your eSIM will connect smoothly to SIMBA’s partner networks when you arrive abroad.
4. Enable data roaming and connect abroad
- Once you land in an APAC country, keep roaming enabled in your device settings so your phone will connect to a local partner network automatically.
5. Track your usage and avoid surprises
- To avoid roaming charges, monitor your data usage via the My SIMBA App or online portal. If you exceed your roaming allowance, SIMBA will tap your SIMBA Wallet for any extra usage at $4/GB (for APAC) under their pay-per-use rates.
