Medical care and expenses abroad
Some users have shared positive experiences regarding Coris’ medical coverage in cases of surgical procedures and associated costs:
“I had appendicitis surgery in Prague… they sent me to a hospital where I was operated on, my travel companion contacted Coris and the insurer paid for the procedure.” Fanu 49.
This same customer describes issues with case follow-up and personalised attention from agents:
“Additionally, I was hospitalised for several days, and I was called by different people from Coris, having to explain everything to each of them. No one person or two were in charge of my case; I was called from different countries.”
“During my trip to South Africa, I was bitten by an insect and had a severe allergic reaction. I wrote to them, and immediately they told me what to do while coordinating a consultation at a clinic. I was prescribed medication, and by the next day, I was much better. What I liked most was that they didn’t just provide initial care, but they sent me messages throughout the week to check on my progress.” Danna.
“During a vacation in Punta Cana, my son got a cut at the beach. As soon as I wrote to them, they called me and told me the nearest medical centre. They attended to us immediately, without having to pay anything upfront. We were very satisfied with how they handled the situation. Highly recommend.” Constanza.
However, there are also opinions from clients who had a very bad experience when requesting medical attention from the insurance:
“CORIS left my 80-year-old father without care in Italy after suffering a stroke. They didn’t send an ambulance, didn’t ensure he received proper care despite several reports of what was happening, didn’t take care of the transport or change the flights so he could get proper treatment in Argentina… We had to take care of everything ourselves. What they did is called ABANDONMENT, and we are taking legal action. It’s important to note that we paid for the most expensive insurance, and they didn’t cover anything.” Noel.
“The service Coris claims to provide is deficient. Their main objective isn’t to assist but to avoid doing so once you’ve already purchased the insurance. Unfortunately, I’ve had to use it twice.” Anonymous.
Luggage Protection
“My wallet was stolen in Rome. All my cards and money were taken. My driving license and more. I called for assistance. They asked for the police report. I sent it, and they told me it was a theft, so I wasn’t entitled to assistance. They left me in Rome without money or cards. I consider the wallet part of my luggage. Not even an attempt to resolve anything. To me, it’s a fraud.” Antojadas Deco & Jardín.
Refund Policies
Some clients have experienced delays in the reimbursement process with Coris, although they eventually got their expenses back. On the other hand, other users have expressed dissatisfaction due to bureaucratic procedures, documentation requirements, and a lack of responsibility with deadlines, without receiving their money back.
“I took out Coris in April for a Caribbean cruise. On the ship, I had to take my son to the doctor and pay for it (they had warned me beforehand). I called Coris and informed them. When I got back to Argentina, I made the claim and was reimbursed for everything I spent, the only issue was that it took two months to pay me, but the rest was fine. We also used it on land once, when we took him to the hotel doctor (also reimbursed), and another time they sent a Coris doctor to the hotel.” Marcelo.
“The refund date has passed, I’ve sent 3 emails, and I still haven’t received a response.” Ana.
“If you get sick, they won’t give you timely or fast assistance, and they’ll take half a year to process your reimbursement and pay you whatever they want.” Maritza.
