Frequently asked questions

When does my data plan start?

Your eSIM plan activates immediately upon purchase. This means that as soon as you complete your payment, your plan is ready for use. For example, if you purchase your subscription plan on the 1st of the month, it will be active from that day and remain valid for a full 30 days. When your subscription renews for the next month, it will automatically activate for another 30-day cycle. If you are purchasing your plan in advance, please note that the activation will begin immediately—not on a future date. If you do not intend to use your plan right away, consider purchasing it closer to your intended start date.

Can I make phone calls and send messages with my eSIM?

The Global eSIM only allows you to use mobile data. It does not include a local phone number for mobile calls or messaging.

You can still make calls using apps like WhatsApp, eliminating the need for a local SIM card.

On how many devices can I use the same eSIM?

If you change your phone during your trip around the world, you can transfer your eSIM. However, please note that you can only transfer the eSIM to one device: from the original one to a new one. Once you have installed it on a device other than the original one, you will not be able to reinstall it on the original device. To perform the eSIM transfer, you must remove it from the first device.
Remember that formatting or restoring your mobile phone will not delete your eSIM. You must delete it manually.

When will I receive my eSIM?

Once you purchase your eSIM for worldwide travel, you will receive a confirmation email with the guide to install it immediately using a QR or manual code. Remember that once purchased, the eSIM cannot be returned.

Can I keep my WhatsApp number?

Yes! you don't need to configure anything. If you don't activate a new number on WhatsApp, you'll always keep the old one.

How can I check the usage of my plan?

You can manage your eSIMs and access all your data plans by logging into your Holafly Center via the Holafly website.
