What is Virgin Plus international roaming?
Virgin Plus international roaming allows you to stay connected with your Virgin Plus plan when you’re abroad. There are two ways you can use Virgin Plus international roaming: Roam Sweet Roam and Data Travel Passes.
Keep in mind that international data roaming only works for monthly plans, meaning prepaid customers can’t use international roaming.

Keep in mind that for destinations not listed above, you can still use Virgin Plus international roaming with a Data Travel Pass.
Virgin Plus international roaming plans and pricing
To connect in the US or internationally with Virgin Plus international roaming, you can travel with Roam Sweet Roam, which allows you to use the mobile data allowance from your plan for over 200 destinations. There are two options, depending on your destination:
- The U.S. at $13/day
- International at $16/day
Roam Sweet Roam also includes unlimited outgoing calls within the country you’re visiting and back to Canada, unlimited incoming calls, and unlimited outgoing and incoming text messages.
Plans are valid daily until 11:59 p.m. ET, regardless of the destination you’re roaming from. After you use 5 GB, your data speed is reduced to up to 512 Kbps for the remainder of the day, and speeds reset at 12:00 a.m. ET.
If you’re visiting the Caribbean Islands and Mexico, or you’re planning a trip around Europe, you use the Caribbean and Mexico 7-Day Travel Pass or the Europe 14-Day Travel Pass. These plans allow you to use the data from your plan and include unlimited calling to Canada from your destination, unlimited calling within your destination, and unlimited texting.

Keep in mind that both Travel Passes above are compatible with Roam Sweet Roam, so you’ll only pay the Travel Pass rate while in eligible destinations.
If your destination isn’t covered by Roam Sweet Roam or the Travel Passes above, you can get a Data Travel Pass, which gives you a set amount of data for use outside Canada. Just go to your Virgin Plus account or app, buy a travel add-on, and select your destination to see how much it will cost.
How to activate international roaming with Virgin Plus
You can activate your Virgin Plus international roaming plans by taking the steps below.
Roam Sweet Roam
To activate Roam Sweet Roam, text ROAMHOME to 6800. After you enroll, you’ll automatically get the daily Roam Sweet Roam rate on any day you call, text, or use data while roaming in eligible destinations.
Your usual data overage rates will apply, so make sure you know how much data you need for travel. To remove it, text REMOVEROAM to 6800 or remove it in My Account on the Virgin Plus website or app.
Caribbean and Mexico 7-day Travel Pass
To activate the Caribbean & Mexico 7-Day Travel Pass, just text 7DAYPASS to 4800. Once added, your 7-day period starts automatically at midnight ET on the day it’s applied to your account.
Europe 14-day Travel Pass
To activate the Europe 14-Day Travel Pass, text EURO14 to 4800. The pass activates as soon as it’s added and lasts for 14 days. Add it on the day your trip starts.
Data Travel Pass
Buy a Data Travel Pass through the My Account app or My Account online. After purchase, you have 30 days to use it. The pass activates automatically the moment you use roaming data for the first time, and expires on its own, so there’s no need to remove it.
If you need more data, you can buy multiple passes, and they will be used one after another.
