What is Videotron international roaming?
Videotron international roaming lets you use your Videotron mobile plan abroad through data roaming, with three options: the Daily Traveller Pass, a travel plan, or pay-per-use.
Videotron international roaming plans and charges
Depending on how often you travel and how much data you need, the options below let you stay connected with Videotron roaming. We also explain how to use Videotron’s WiFi Calling service so you can stay connected without using mobile data.
Daily Traveller Pass
The Daily Traveller Pass lets you use your monthly plan—including your data, minutes, and texts—while traveling in the US or in over 100 international destinations, without extra Videotron roaming charges, depending on the pass you choose.

The Daily Traveller Pass is charged at a fixed daily rate for 24 hours starting from your first use.
You only pay for the days you use your phone while roaming, up to a maximum of 10 days for Videotron US roaming or 20 days for Videotron international roaming per billing cycle. Videotron will also notify you if your data roaming charges reach $100.

All travel plans include free 5G+ network access, call display and voicemail, and no data speed caps. You can get discounts by subscribing to internet and mobility services and subscribing to more than one mobile plan.
If you need more data, you can choose from on-demand or permanent data add-ons. On-demand data add-ons are one-time purchases, so you can continue using your plan without exceeding your data limit.

Pay-per-use
If you don’t expect to use much data for your travel, or if your destination isn’t covered by the other plans, you can use pay-per-use Videotron roaming and check the rates by country or region.

WiFi Calling service
Similar to Telus’ WiFi Calling outside Canada, Videotron’s WiFi Calling allows you to make calls and texts when using a WiFi network free of charge, as long as you have a mobile device with the WiFi Calling feature activated.
With Videotron’s WiFi Calling, you can make international calls and texts to Canada and other eligible countries even when your mobile signal is weak, and send and receive MMS and videos.
However, keep in mind that the following are invoiced as if you were in Canada when using WiFi Calling in eligible countries:
- Making calls to Canada
- Making local calls
- Receiving calls
- Sending or receiving texts or MMS
Also, this service may not work if your WiFi network is distributed by satellite, is a shared connection created using a hotspot, or has usage restrictions.
How to add a Videotron roaming plan to your phone
Below are ways to activate your chosen Videotron roaming plan:
Activate Daily Traveller Pass
To use a Daily Traveller Pass, you can go to Videotron’s Customer Centre and find the Daily Traveller Pass section. Alternatively, you can also open your User Centre + app and go to Mobile > Travel. Once there, you can turn your Daily Traveller Pass on or off.
The Pass automatically starts as soon as you make calls, texts, or use data in an eligible country.
Activate travel plan
To get Videotron’s travel plans, you can either purchase the monthly travel plan or change your current plan entirely, depending on your destination.
Activate pay-per-use roaming
You do not need to register separately to use pay-per-use roaming. Just turn on data roaming on your device, and you can use roaming outside of Canada.
If you don’t have a travel plan or a Daily Traveller Pass, you will automatically be charged pay-per-use rates when roaming abroad.
How to avoid Videotron roaming charges
To avoid unexpected roaming charges for your Videotron mobile plan, you can do the following:
- Turn off data roaming in your phone settings when you don’t need internet access.
- Disable mobile data entirely for added protection against accidental usage.
- Keep your phone in airplane mode and manually enable WiFi when you want to go online.
- Enable WiFi calling so you can make calls and send texts without using mobile networks.
