Fizz USA roaming

If you travel frequently between Canada and the U.S., Fizz’s Canada+USA mobile plan may be a good choice. For just a few dollars more per month than a Canada-only plan, you can use your data, calls, and texts across both countries, including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Fizz partners with AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon in the United States to provide reliable roaming coverage. These plans start at $29 for 1 GB of data with unlimited calls and texts, and go up to $59 for 100 GB with unlimited calls and texts. You can also customize your plan by adding or removing features such as unlimited texts, unlimited calls, international calling, or voicemail according to your needs.

Travel add-ons

Travel Add-ons are prepaid blocks of data, talk, or text that activate instantly upon purchase. You can buy them in your Fizz account under My Plans > Manage Plan > Travel. Once active, they’re valid until the end of your next billing cycle.

Data prices start around $4/GB, with exact rates varying by country. For example:

Japan: $8 for 1 GB, $14 for 2 GB, $25 for 4 GB
France: $4 for 1 GB, $6 for 2 GB, $13 for 5 GB
Greece: $6 for 1 GB, $10 for 2 GB, $20 for 5 GB

Pay as you go

If you have funds in your Fizz Wallet, you can use Pay As You Go instead of a Travel Add-on. However, it’s usually the most expensive option. You’ll be charged per use for calls, texts, and data outside your coverage zone.

As of May 2025, the rates for usage in the United States are:

$0.02 per MB of data
$0.02 per text message
$0.10 per minute of airtime

These rates may vary by country, and Fizz no longer posts them publicly. You’ll receive an email showing local rates the first time your phone connects to a roaming network.

How to add a Fizz roaming plan to your phone

Activating roaming with Fizz is simple. Here’s how each option works:

For Travel Add-ons: Log in to your account and go to My Plans > Manage Plan > Travel. Enter your destination, select your Add-on, and confirm payment. The plan will be activated immediately.
For Pay As You Go: Ensure your Wallet has sufficient funds, then follow the same steps as above.
For Canada+USA mobile plan: Adjust your plan coverage under My Plans > Manage Plan > Change My Plan before your trip.
