If you’re like me and you love sharing your travels on social media (and making everyone back home a little jealous), Bali deserves a spot on your bucket list.

Yes, Bali has beautiful beaches, a warm tropical climate, and luxury resorts for a fraction of the price you’d expect. But what really blew me away when I visited was its Instagrammable beauty.

From jungle swings to floating breakfasts, Bali is the ultimate Instagram playground. Whether you’re planning an upcoming trip or just gathering inspiration, here are the 10 best Bali Instagram spots of 2025.

Side note: Stay connected while you explore Bali. Holafly’s eSIM for Bali with unlimited data lets you post your snaps in real time and stay connected across the island.

  1. Gates of Heaven (Lempuyang Temple)

Aptly named the Gates of Heaven, the famous gate at Pura Lempuyang Temple will have you feeling (and looking) like you’re stepping into another dimension.

On Instagram, the gates of heaven appear to be perfectly floating between a shimmering pool and the clouds. But while the skyline is real, the swimming pool is actually an illusion. That’s right, staff members hold up a mirror to create the appearance of water.

In reality, there is no water, just a standard path leading to the gates. But this doesn’t mean the temple is any less magnificent. Lempuyang Temple sits atop Mount Lempuyang, and so, the gates open up to the sky, offering an incredible view of the surrounding mountains, valleys, and terraces.

And look, we won’t tell your followers the truth about the swimming pool illusion if you don’t!

  1. Tegalalang Rice Terraces

We’ve all seen them; those incredible shots of lush green rice terraces that make you question whether Bali is really part of this planet.

Bali is renowned for its rice fields. Thanks to awe-inspiring Instagram posts, they have become one of the first stops on most people’s Bali itinerary

Tegalalang Rice Terraces are among the most visited and are conveniently located just outside Ubud. The terraces are part of the UNESCO-recognised subak system, which reflects Bali’s rich spiritual and agricultural heritage.

The terraces offer breathtaking panoramic views, especially early in the morning when the sun is just beginning to illuminate the fields. I went at sunrise and it was incredibly peaceful (well before the tourist buses arrived) so I was able to capture photos that made it look like I had the entire place to myself.

  1. Tirta Empul Temple

The Tirta Empul Temple is one of the most famous Bali Instagram spots, and one of the most memorable moments of my trip.

This 10th-century temple is revered as sacred by the Balinese, and both tourists and locals visit to bask in the healing properties of its crystal-clear pools.

At Tirta Empul Temple, you partake in a traditional purification ritual. Wearing a brightly colored sarong, you move from spout to spout, standing under the cascading water to wash away any negativity.

  1. Ubud Swing

This is another of the most visited Bali Instagram spots in 2025, and honestly, it’s somewhere you cannot miss, no matter how short your trip is.

There are several swings around Bali, but the Ubud Swing is where you’ll be able to take THAT iconic photo.

It’s not cheap, but you get professional photos taken by the on-site photographer. Plus, there are multiple swings and nests against lush jungle backdrops, so you’ll get tons of ready-to-post content.

  1. Nusa Penida (Kelingking Beach)

Beyond rice paddies and lush jungle, Bali has some gorgeous coastlines. The most Instagrammable one is the dramatic T-Rex shaped cliff formation found on the tiny island of Nusa Penida, to the southeast of mainland Bali.

It’s not just the cliff’s jaw-dropping height and unique natural shape that make it so photogenic. The endless turquoise waters and white sand beach below give one of the best Paradise-style Bali Instagram shots in 2025.

  1. Handara Gate

If you loved the Gates of Heaven, you won’t want to miss Handara Gate either. Offering an equally dramatic backdrop but a more peaceful vibe than Gates of Heaven, you’re likely to have more success getting a picture-perfect shot with no one in the background here.

This traditional stone gate, located in the north of the island, serves as the entrance to a luxury resort. While it’s not located atop a mountain like the Gates of Heaven, it still offers a magical mountain backdrop and a unique, misty highland atmosphere.

  1. Campuhan Ridge Walk in Ubud

One of the best ways to explore Bali’s serene scenery is by walking through it, and the Campuhan Ridge Walk in Ubud is the best place to do so.

This 2 km scenic walking trail takes you along a hilltop ridge, offering sweeping views (and Instagrammable photos) of rice fields, valleys, and distant mountains

It’s far less crowded than some of the other Bali Instagram spots on this list, and I recommend going around sunrise or sunset when the low sunlight softens the landscape.

  1. Secret waterfalls

Of course, we cannot discuss the best Bali Instagram spots of 2025 without mentioning the secret waterfalls!

Bali is home to many waterfalls, but in my opinion, Tukad Cepung and Banyumala are the true hidden gems.

Tukad Cepung, about 25 km from Ubud, is where you’ll find the famous Instagram shot of the sun’s beams dramatically filtering through a cave’s opening.

Banyumala, in northern Bali, is a fairytale-like jungle waterfall where twin cascades flow directly over lush greenery. This waterfall in particular captures the more wild, untouched, and ‘off-the-beaten-track’ side of Bali.

  1. Floating breakfasts in Bali Villas

Floating breakfasts have been an iconic Bali travel experience, and an excellent opportunity for some chic and envy-inducing Instagram photos and reels.

Many villas and all-inclusive resorts in Bali offer this experience, where staff deliver a lavish spread of tropical fruits, pancakes, eggs, and fresh juice on a floating tray right in your private pool. The trend creates the ultimate holiday snapshot, showcasing Bali’s luxurious and laid-back island vibe.

  1. Bali cafes (Kynd Community, Sea Circus)

Bali is full of charming and vibrant cafes where you’ll get more than just a delicious brunch; you’ll also get tons of cool content.

For example, Kynd Community in Seminyak is renowned for its pink pastel interior and beautifully crafted smoothie bowls, making it an ideal spot for health-conscious Instagrammers.

A few streets away, Sea Circus offers a totally different vibe. From the exterior, it appears to be a local joint but with a twist – vivid, playful murals. The interior is just as vibrant, featuring tropical decor and colourful dishes, making it perfect for fun, lively photos.

Pro tips for nailing the perfect shot

  • Opt for quiet times – Bali is becoming increasingly busy. So I recommend visiting these Bali Instagram spots early in the morning to avoid crowds and capture serene, unobstructed views. The time of year you visit will also determine how crowded these spots are. Discover the best time to visit Bali here.
  • Lighting is everything – Sunrise and sunset offer soft, golden hues and dramatic skies, whereas midday provides the most vibrant images.
  • Choose your clothing carefully – Bold or pastel colours pop against Bali’s lush landscapes. However, remember that when visiting a temple in Bali, you’ll need to cover your shoulders and knees out of respect, either with clothing or a colourful sarong. Check out our dedicated guide for a full list of what to pack for Bali.
  • Follow local regulations and respect privacy – Note that many temples and some resorts in Bali restrict drone use, so always check first.
