Vodafone Australia’s $5 roaming feature allows you to use your plan’s included allowance of calls, texts, and data in over 100 destinations for an extra AUD$5 per day. Follow along to learn all about what $5 roaming has to offer. If your next destination isn’t covered, or you’re simply looking for an alternative way to get online, we’ll also introduce you to Holafly eSIMs.
What is Vodafone $5 roaming?
$5 roaming is a Vodafone AU roaming offer, available with most monthly Vodafone eSIM or SIM postpaid plans. The feature comes enabled by default, which means you’ll be charged AU$5/day whenever you use your phone abroad in one of the $5 roaming countries. You can use the service for up to 90 days in a calendar year.
$5 roaming activates automatically whenever you use data, make or receive calls, or send texts abroad. If you don’t use your phone at all, or only use other services to get data, you won’t be charged.
You can disable this feature if you want to avoid roaming charges. However, only do so if you have another way of staying connected, as $5 is generally much cheaper than pay-as-you-go roaming charges.
What’s included in Vodafone’s $5 roaming?
$5 roaming gives you access to your regular allowance of data, calls, and texts while abroad. This means that if you have 50 GB of data included in your monthly plan, you can use up to 50 GB/month abroad by paying the $5 daily fee. The same applies to international calls and texts, as well as calls and texts to Australia.
Vodafone $5 roaming countries
Vodafone’s $5 roaming covers over 100 destinations, including some of the most popular tourist spots in the world. That said, you should always double-check to ensure that your holiday destination is covered. Otherwise, you’ll end up paying hefty pay-as-you-go roaming charges instead of the regular $5 daily fee.
