What is Koodo international roaming?
Koodo international roaming allows you to stay connected outside of Canada with your Koodo eSIM or SIM. There are two options for Koodo international roaming: Easy Roam, which is only available for postpaid or monthly plans, and pay-per-use rates.
You can use Koodo international roaming to stay connected and avoid high roaming charges when traveling abroad.

Koodo’s main data roaming option, Easy Roam, lets you use your Koodo phone plan in the following international destinations:

If Easy Roam doesn’t cover your travel destination, you can still use Koodo international roaming, but you’ll be charged pay-per-use rates.
Koodo international roaming plans and pricing
Koodo offers several ways to stay connected while traveling, depending on your destination and budget. Here’s a quick overview of your roaming options.
Easy Roam
Easy Roam lets you use your Koodo phone plan, including data, calls, and texts, while traveling. You’ll pay $16/day for US travel, or $18/day for international travel, but only on days you use data, make calls, or send texts.
Incoming calls are free. It’s the easiest way to use your regular plan in over 220 destinations.
Easy Roam Travel Passes
The Easy Roam Travel Pass is ideal if you want to skip daily roaming fees and pay a one-time charge instead.
You can choose a 7, 14, or 30-day pass, depending on where you’re traveling. Each pass includes unlimited talk and text and uses your monthly plan’s data allowance while abroad.

After your pass expires or your included days run out, further roaming will be charged at pay-per-use rates.
Prepaid customers can use their phones in Canada and the US, but to roam in the US, they’ll need to add a US Roaming Booster Add-On to their prepaid account.

If you’re traveling somewhere not covered by Easy Roam, you can still roam with Koodo and pay only for what you use. Charges vary by country for calls, texts, and data.

How to add a Koodo roaming plan to your phone
Whether you’re using Easy Roam or prefer pay-per-use roaming, Koodo makes it simple to activate the right plan before you travel. Here’s how to get started:
Easy Roam
You can add Easy Roam to your monthly plan by texting ROAM to 7626 or logging in to your Koodo Self Serve account. Once activated, Easy Roam stays on your account for all future trips. No need to reapply each time.
Easy Roam automatically activates when you make or receive a call, send a text, use data, or check voicemail while abroad, and the daily fee applies only on days you use your phone. If you don’t use your phone or keep it on airplane mode, you won’t be charged.
Pay-per-use rates
If you don’t want to use Easy Roam, you can still access roaming through pay-per-use rates. To enable it, log in to Self Serve and add the following two free add-ons:
- International Voice Roaming: For calls and texts abroad
- International Data Roaming: For mobile data access
Once both are added, your phone will automatically connect to local networks when traveling, and usage will be billed at standard pay-per-use rates.
