Dodo international roaming plan and rates
Dodo international roaming works through a AUD $10 Daily Roaming Pack, which gives you access to data, calls, and SMS in eligible countries.
Here’s how the Dodo international roaming pack works:
- You pay AUD $10 for 1GB of data per day, plus unlimited calls and SMS.
- You’re only charged on days you use your service. Charges apply when Dodo detects usage in an eligible roaming country.
- Incoming SMS is free, which is useful for verification codes and account alerts.
- If you use your full 1GB allowance before midnight (local time), an additional AUD $10 charge applies for another 1GB.
- You’ll receive usage alerts at 50%, 85%, and 100% of your daily data allowance.
- A maximum of 10 Daily Roaming Packs (AUD $100) can be charged in a single day. Roaming is automatically disabled after this limit and must be re-enabled via MyDodo.
You can turn international roaming on or off at any time by logging into your MyDodo account, giving you control over when charges apply.

How to activate roaming in Dodo
To use Dodo international roaming, you need to manually enable it through your online MyDodo account.
Here’s how to activate Dodo international roaming:
- Log in to your MyDodo account on the Dodo website
- Go to your dashboard or the “My Services” tab
- Select your active mobile plan
- Click “International Roaming”, then select “Enable”
Note: You won’t be charged until your device connects to a roaming partner and initiates usage. Receiving SMS is free, making this feature useful for getting bank codes or ride-hailing app verifications while abroad.
How to use international roaming with Dodo
Once you’ve activated international roaming in your MyDodo account, follow these steps to use your service abroad:
- Enable data roaming in your phone’s settings:
- On iPhone: Settings → Mobile Data → Mobile Data Options → Data Roaming
- On Android: Settings → Network & Internet → Mobile Network → Data Roaming
- Monitor your usage via your MyDodo account while travelling
How to avoid Dodo roaming charges while overseas
To stay in control of your costs and avoid roaming charges when travelling, try these tips:
- Monitor your data usage through your MyDodo account on the Dodo website
- Turn off background apps and automatic updates that may consume data without you realising
- Use WiFi for apps that use the most mobile data
- Enable airplane mode when you’re not actively using your device
- Consider a Holafly travel eSIM with unlimited data to skip daily roaming charges altogether.
Even casual use can quickly burn through your daily allowance; 1GB of data for AUD $10 doesn’t go far when just 30 minutes of HD video or a short scroll through social media can use it up.
That’s why it’s important to apply the tips above and manage your usage carefully, especially if you’re travelling for more than a few days. Otherwise, you could easily trigger multiple AUD $10 charges in a single day.
