BT Mobile roaming plans
Check your My Mobile settings to confirm whether your BT Mobile plan includes Roam Like Home (most do). This roaming feature is enabled automatically when you travel to an eligible country. All you have to do is turn on data roaming in your BT Mobile plan and in your phone’s settings. With Roam Like Home:
- You can call and text UK landlines and mobiles from Roam Like Home countries.
- You can call and text local landlines and mobiles in the country you’re roaming in.
- You’re entitled to your data allowance while roaming in an eligible Roam Like Home country.
- BT Mobile’s Fair Use Policy applies. If your plan includes 20 GB or more, you may be charged extra if you use more than 15 GB in a single period while roaming.
- Once your allowance is exhausted, you will be charged standard rates until it renews.
If you wish to avoid standard rates, you can purchase a 500 MB Travel Data Pass with a £7.12 GBP daily charge.
You’ll only be able to use this data pass in 12 countries, including Andorra, Australia, Canada, China, India, Mexico, New Zealand, South Africa, Thailand, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States of America.
BT Mobile standard out-of-plan rates
If you exhaust your allowances, you’ll have to pay the standard rates. BT Mobile will notify you when you’ve reached 80% and 100% of your allowances. Charges vary based on zones:

How to activate BT Mobile data roaming
