How to Install and Activate an eSIM on The Huawei?

Installing and activating your Holafly eSIM on a Huawei is easy. Here we explain how the installation works on Holafly and how to activate the eSIM on your Huawei.

Before you start, keep in mind that you can use the QR code or your manual codes to install the eSIM, your device must be compatible and not locked by the operator, make sure you have a stable internet connection and do not delete the eSIM once installed, as you will not be able to reinstall it.

How to install an eSIM on Huawei

Installation by QR code

To install by QR code: Go to Settings > Mobile network > SIM management > Tap Add eSIM > Find and select the “+” icon > Scan your QR CODE > Finally tap on Add this eSIM.

Manual Installation

To install manually only: Go to Settings > Mobile network > SIM management > Tap ADD eSIM >Find and select the “+” icon> Enter Manually >  Enter the SM+DP Address followed by the Activation code which you can find on your email.

You may leave the Confirmation Code field empty.

How to Activate a Holafly eSIM on Huawei

You can only activate the eSIM when you arrive at your destination. If it has been activated ahead of time, you just need to deactivate data roaming. Here you have a step-by-step guide on how to activate your eSIM on Huawei:

Go to Settings > Mobile network > SIM management > Tap your Holafly eSIM > Enable your eSIM> Go back twice until you reach Mobile Network> Select Mobile data > Scroll down until you find your Holafly eSIM >  Turn on Data Roaming.

Installation is only possible when you are connected to a strong wifi network, so avoid public networks such as airports or parks. Also, there are devices where installation is better in one way than another, therefore, if you have already tried to install via QR code and it does not work, you can try to do it manually and vice versa. Finally, if you activated your eSIM ahead of time, remember to keep it off until you reach your destination.
