What Is eUICC and How Does It Work?
The Embedded Universal Integrated Circuit Card (eUICC) is the chip integrated into devices that use an eSIM. Unlike a traditional physical SIM card, which is removable, the eUICC is built directly into the device, allowing for digital activation and management of operator profiles.
Here are some key features of the eUICC in eSIMs:
- Remote Management: Enables remote management and updating of operator profiles without physically changing the SIM card.
- Flexibility: Supports multiple operator profiles, making it easier to switch service providers without replacing hardware.
- Security: Provides a high level of security for authentication and user data protection.
- Compatibility: Works with various mobile network standards, making the device versatile across different regions and operators.
In other words, the eUICC is the component within a device that manages the eSIM.
Check if your device supports multiple eSIMs. If you encounter installation or usage issues, we suggest turning off the inactive eSIM and removing expired eSIMs that you will not use again, due to the eUICC service limit for a device.
