Data plans: How much does a Saily eSIM cost?

Saily’s single purchase eSIMs come in two formats that affect the price you pay:

  • Limited data: Pay for the data. Range from 1 GB to 50 GB. Validity of either 7 or 30 days.*
  • Unlimited data: Pay for the days. Range from 5 to 30 days.

*Some regional plans, like Europe or Global, offer longer validity periods of up to 90 or 365 days.

A notable limitation across all of Saily’s eSIM plans is that they are not fully customizable. Pricing is tailored for travelers who use a specific amount of data or a set number of days, but gaps between packages can make you pay for days or data you do not use.

As an example, let’s review Saily’s eSIM for Europe:

DataValidityPrice (USD)
1 GB7 days$4.99
3 GB30 days$12.49
5 GB30 days$19.49
10 GB30 days$35.99
50 GB90 days$95.99
Unlimited7 days$28.99
Unlimited10 days$35.99
Unlimited15 days$49.99
Unlimited20 days$59.99
Unlimited25 days$65.99
Unlimited30 days$71.99

If your trip to Europe lasts 11 days and you want unlimited data every day, you must buy the 15-day plan. This means paying $14 more than the 10-day plan for just 1 extra day of unlimited data.

For limited-data plans, you can top up your Saily eSIM. However, this means monitoring your data usage while traveling. Using just 2 GB of data per day will require a top-up for the Saily eSIM for Europe within 6 days (unless you purchase an unlimited plan or spend $95.99 on 50 GB of data).

Subscriptions

Saily also offers a recurring monthly subscription, Saily Ultra. Each covering 121 worldwide destinations, there are three tiers to choose from:

  • Standard at $29.99/month for 5 GB of data
  • Plus at $44.99/month for 10 GB of data
  • Premium at $59.99/month for 30 GB of high-speed data + unlimited 1 Mbps data

Discounts are available for quarterly or annual purchases, and each plan includes additional features. parison.

Check out our Saily Ultra review for a full breakdown of the packages, or see how it compares to Holafly in our Holafly Plans vs. Saily Ultra comparison.

Coverage

Saily offers eSIM plans for 200+ destinations. For short trips, you can choose between single-country plans or regional packages

This said, not every worldwide destination is covered by Saily. Here is a list of countries where Saily does not provide a dedicated single-country eSIM at the time of writing:

AfricaAsia and the Middle EastEuropeOceaniaThe Americas
AngolaBhutanBelarusKiribatiCuba
BurundiIranRussiaMarshall Islands
ComorosLebanonPalau
DjiboutiMyanmarSolomon Islands
Equatorial GuineaNorth KoreaTuvalu
EritreaPalestine
EthiopiaSyria
LibyaTurkmenistan
São Tomé and PríncipeYemen
Somalia

For multi-destination trips, Saily offers seven regional eSIMs and one Global eSIM. Before buying a regional plan, check whether your destination is covered by the Saily regional plan.

For example, Saily’s eSIM for Europe does not include coverage in

  • Albania
  • Belarus
  • Bosnia and Herzegovina
  • Moldova
  • Montenegro
  • North Macedonia
  • Russia
  • Serbia
  • Ukraine

Saily’s eSIM subscription gives coverage in 121 destinations under a single plan. These are exactly the same countries covered by Saily’s Global eSIM plans.

Evidently, Saily’s global solutions do not keep you covered everywhere, with notable absences including:

  • Aruba
  • Bahamas
  • Barbados
  • Belize
  • Botswana
  • French Polynesia
  • The Maldives
  • Namibia
  • Seychelles
  • Uganda
  • Zambia
  • Zimbabwe

Speed

Your connection with Saily can range anywhere from 3G to 5G. Saily connects you to local providers wherever you go. So, the speed of your coverage depends on the provider they use and the strength of your connection at the time.

Saily’s unlimited plans come with a limit on high-speed usage before you are subject to a speed cap. The limit is dependent on your chosen plan.

For example, the Saily eSIM for North America gives you 3 GB of daily data with no speed limit. After this, you are capped at 1 Mbps.

Saily eSIM app

The Saily eSIM app lets you purchase, install, manage, track, and delete your Saily eSIM account.

While you can purchase a Saily eSIM via the website, you will need to log in or sign up using a Google or Apple account. You will then need to use the same account in the app to track your data usage, view your current plans, or top up your Saily eSIM.

It’s worth checking Saily eSIM app reviews from customers on both the Apple Store and Google Play Store before making any purchase.

Customer support

If your Saily eSIM stops working or you have urgent questions about the service, you can contact Saily’s customer support team in two ways:

  1. 24/7 live chat (available only in app)
  2. Email form (available via web or app)

Saily doesn’t offer support through WhatsApp or have a phone number to call. For less urgent queries or questions that can be fixed by yourself, you can find information on Saily’s Support Center.

At Holafly, you can easily reach real support agents 24/7 on WhatsApp, social media, or via our app! See how more of our dedicated features line up against Saily in our Holafly vs. Saily comparison.

Refund policy

Saily offers partial or full refunds depending on your case. These can be requested in Saily’s Refund Center.

Once you activate your eSIM, a full Saily refund cannot be guaranteed. A full or partial refund will instead be considered if:

  1. You were unable to use the eSIM due to Saily quality issues
  2. You activated the plan but used less than 1% of your data limit

The only way to guarantee a full refund with Saily is if you have not installed your eSIM or activated your plan. You must also request the refund within 30 days of purchase.

Saily’s eSIM subscription may come with different terms. Read more in our dedicated blogs for when Saily Ultra isn’t working, or you are looking to cancel your Saily Ultra eSIM.

Extra features

Saily offers a range of additional features alongside its core data solution. Some come automatically when you buy a Saily eSIM, while others require an additional purchase:

Security

As a company operating under NordSecurity’s brand, Saily users can enjoy additional security features.

These include the choice of 115+ virtual locations, the ability to enable ad blockers, and a web protection feature that blocks malicious sites and limits online trackers.

To access other NordSecurity products, like NordVPN, you need to purchase a Saily subscription.

Phone number

You can get a US phone number with Saily for $0.99/month. The number is added to your Saily account, where you can then pair it with any existing data plans.

To send texts or make calls, you’ll need to purchase an extra bundle. These bundles are priced differently by location, with both incoming and outgoing calls and texts contributing to your usage.

Here is the pricing for the United Kingdom, for example:

TextsCallsValidityPrice
5 SMS5 mins30 days$1.99
15 SMS15 mins30 days$2.99
30 SMS30 mins30 days$4.99
50 SMS50 mins30 days$5.99

Is the Saily eSIM worth it?

Whether Saily is worth it for you depends on your trip and what you need from an eSIM. Before choosing Saily, it is worth considering:

  • If you require a local phone number, or if a US number will do the trick
  • If you are willing to pay for days or data that you might not use
  • If your chosen destination is covered by Saily
  • If you are happy signing up for a Saily account to make a purchase
  • If you don’t need to contact live chat support without a Saily account already created
