How to Install and Activate eSIM on iPhone?

Installing and activating your Holafly eSIM on an iPhone is straightforward. We recommend installing and activating it upon arrival at your destination. Here’s how to install and activate the eSIM on your iPhone with Holafly:

Before you begin, have your QR code or manual codes ready, ensure you have a stable internet connection, and do not delete the eSIM once installed, as you will not be able to reinstall it.

How to Install an eSIM on an iPhone (iOS)

1. Choose the installation method: QR code or manually.

QR Installation:

Go to Settings > Cellular or Mobile Data > Add eSIM  > Use QR Code > Scan the QR code > Continue

Manual Installation:

Go to Settings > Cellular or Mobile Data > Add eSIM > Use QR Code > Enter Details Manually > Copy and paste the SM-DP address and Activation Code you found in your email > Next > Continue

Once your eSIM is installed, the next step is to configure it:

Complete the cellular setup > Assign a name to your new Holafly line > Choose your default line for messages and calls > Select "Primary" to continue using your number in iMessage and FaceTime > Select “Holafly eSIM” for Cellular Data.

How to Activate a Holafly eSIM on iPhone (iOS)

Go to Settings > Cellular or Mobile Data > Select the Holafly line > Data Roaming and turn it on to activate the plan.

And that's it! Now your data plan is active and can enjoy an excellent connection on your trip.

If you think you activated the eSIM too early, remember that eSIMs do not work outside your destination. To avoid any unexpected usage, just turn off data roaming until you reach your destination.

Troubleshooting Tips

If your phone fails to connect to the network after enabling data roaming, try manually selecting the network. To do this, follow these steps:

  • Go to Settings > Tap on Cellular or Mobile Data > Select Holafly Line > Then Network Selection> Disable automatic network selection and wait for available operators to load.

To choose the correct operator for your plan:

  • Visit our website and search for your eSIM destination, for example, Spain. Click on Technical Specs and refer to the Networks section.  In this case, the best network for the Spain plan is Orange.

If the connection doesn’t work with the operator you switched to, try the other operators listed in the Network section of your plan’s Technical Specs.
