Any of Telus’ mobility services is available on both SIM and eSIM. New customers can choose a monthly postpaid plan, either bringing their own eSIM-compatible phone or getting a new device with the plan.

Keep in mind that the difference between 5G and 5G+ is that 5G+ offers faster download speeds of up to 2 Gbps, while 5G gives speeds up to 250 Mbps, depending on your device and network conditions.

How to get a Telus eSIM
You can get a Telus eSIM when you sign up on the TELUS website, with instant activation after checkout, or at a Telus store near you. A $15 SIM purchase applies.
Telus Mobility eSIM activation
A Telus eSIM can be activated directly on your device using a Telus eSIM QR code. Keep in mind that some older devices may require an active physical SIM first. Also, a Wi-Fi or cellular connection is needed to complete the activation.
Telus Mobility eSIM transfer
Most devices let you convert a physical SIM to an eSIM.
Android (Pixel, Motorola, Samsung):
- Open Settings > Network/Connections > SIM manager or SIMs.
- Select Add eSIM > Transfer SIM from another device.
- Follow the on-screen prompts on both devices to complete the transfer.
iPhone (with eSIM Quick Transfer):
- Open Settings > Cellular > Set Up Cellular or Add eSIM.
- Select Transfer from Nearby iPhone (or iPad).
- Follow the on-screen prompts on both devices to complete the transfer.
How to install Telus eSIM according to type of device
To set up a Telus eSIM, you’ll need a compatible phone and a Telus eSIM QR code. The steps may differ slightly depending on whether you’re adding an eSIM on a Google Pixel, iPhone, or Android device.
Step 1. Get your Telus eSIM QR code from your Telus account or a Telus store.
Step 2. Open Settings on your device.
- On iPhone: Go to Cellular > Add Cellular Plan.
- On Android / Google Pixel: Go to Network & Internet > Mobile Network > Add Carrier.
Step 3. Select Add eSIM (or Add Cellular Plan).
Step 4. Scan your Telus QR code or follow the on-screen instructions.
Step 5. Confirm installation and restart your phone if prompted.
