Let’s be honest, we’ve all become a little more obsessed with the finer things in recent years. Whether you’re down a YouTube rabbit hole of five-star hotel reviews or saving Michelin-starred restaurants to your ‘someday’ list, the pull of luxury travel has never been stronger. And America is very much at the center of it all.
The U.S. is one of the world’s top luxury destinations, and it’s only getting bigger. The market is expected to grow at around 7.8% a year between 2026 and 2030. The dream is becoming the plan.
But which states are actually delivering? The Holafly Research Team dug into the data across all 50 states, looking at five things that really matter to luxury travelers: luxury hotels, upscale restaurants, Michelin-recognized establishments, designer fashion retailers, and luxury car dealerships.
We crunched the numbers on where these premium experiences are most concentrated, and the results might just surprise you.

And as more destinations raise their game, travelers are finding world-class experiences in places they might not have considered before. For anyone with a trip to plan, the options have never been better.
Methodology
We analyzed five key metrics, including the availability of luxury hotels, upscale restaurants, Michelin-recognized establishments, designer fashion retailers, and luxury car dealerships across each state using sources like Google Maps and TripAdvisor. These insights were then combined to create a ‘boujie index score’ out of 500, ranking states based on their overall access to luxury experiences.
