How much a Fido postpaid plan really costs

Fido postpaid plans cost CA$19 to CA$55 per month. The four Basic plans have fixed per-line prices, while the 20GB and both 60GB 5G plans offer CA$5 off each additional line, reducing the cost per line as you add more.

Number of linesMonthly cost per line (CAD)
1 line$19-55
2 lines$19-52.50
3 lines$19-51.67
4 lines$19-51.25

Ranges cover all seven BYOP plans and include eligible autopay discounts. Taxes and device payments are extra.

If you travel frequently or have a trip coming up, roaming can add to your monthly bill. The 250 MB, Talk & Text, 2GB, 3GB, 20GB, and Canada-wide 60GB plans do not include roaming. The 60GB US-Mexico option includes roaming in those two countries for the first 12 months with a new activation.

If your eligible plan doesn’t include roaming at your destination, Fido Roam costs CA$16 per day in the US or CA$18 per day in covered international destinations, on top of your monthly plan. Fido Roam is unavailable on the 250 MB and 3GB Basic plans.

For example, using Fido Roam every day during a seven-day trip to Spain adds CA$126 to your bill, before taxes.

Another option is a Fido Roam Travel Pass, with options lasting three to 30 days. For example, seven-day passes cost CA$50 for the US or CA$75 internationally, in addition to your monthly plan. Your destination and length of stay determine which Fido international roaming option suits your trip.

Another option to consider is Holafly Plans, especially if you travel frequently or spend longer periods abroad. One eSIM keeps you connected across multiple countries without arranging a new roaming pass for every trip.

FAQs about Fido postpaid plans

These answers cover common questions about Fido postpaid plans and what to expect before signing up.

Are Fido plans prepaid or postpaid?

Fido’s current mobile plans are postpaid, with a monthly bill for your service. It no longer offers prepaid service and has directed prepaid customers to chatr since February 20, 2025. If you prefer paying in advance, chatr is the prepaid provider Fido recommends.

What is the cheapest plan on Fido?

The cheapest Fido postpaid plan is the 250MB Basic Plan – BYOP at CA$19 per month before taxes, with no autopay discount. It includes 250 MB of data, unlimited incoming calls in Canada, and 100 outgoing Canada-wide minutes. Additional outgoing minutes cost CA$0.45 each.

Does Fido run a credit check for postpaid plans?

Yes. Fido assesses your credit when you open a postpaid account and may require a security deposit, apply Credit Limit Monitoring, or both. Deposit amounts and spending limits depend on your assessment.

How do I cancel my Fido plan?

Contact Fido customer service to request cancellation. If you’re moving your number to another carrier, keep your Fido service active until the transfer finishes. Cancelling with an outstanding device financing balance makes that balance payable on your next bill, alongside any remaining service or usage charges.
