Can’t activate Airhub eSIM

If you’re a first-time user, you probably missed one step when activating your Airhub eSIM, which is fine, and it’s one of the fastest things to solve if your eSIM is not working.

Disclaimer: As Airhub is an eSIM marketplace, issues can vary between service suppliers. Here are some common issues, but contacting the Airhub customer support is often the best way to fix your eSIM if it’s not working.

Here’s what you must do if your Airhub eSIM isn’t activated:

Check if your device is eSIM-compatible

If you have a last-gen mobile, it likely supports using an eSIM. Still, if you have doubts, double-check if your device is eSIM-compatible before choosing an eSIM plan.

Another way to check the compatibility is by adding your mobile’s EID and IMEI numbers on the Airhub site.

Activate eSIM on iPhone

As mentioned, it’s easy to miss a step when activating your Airhub eSIM.

If you’re an iPhone user, here’s the step-by-step process to ensure you’ve installed yours correctly:.

  1. Go to “My eSIMs” through the app or website to find your QR code.
  2. Go to “Settings” on your iPhone.
  3. Choose “Cellular/Mobile” and “Add Cellular/Mobile Plan”.
  4. Scan your Airhub eSIM QR code and enter the 4-digit confirmation code when requested.
  5. Go back to “Cellular/Mobile Plan” and select and turn on your Airhub eSIM.
  6. Upon arriving at your destination, remember to turn on data roaming and turn off your primary line to avoid extra charges.

Note: You may need to set up a new Access Point name (APN), which is available on your Airhub account.

Activate eSIM on Android

There are two ways to activate an Airhub eSIM on Android:

  • Option 1: Scanning the QR code
    • Go to “My eSIMs” on the website or app to find your QR code.
    • Go to “Settings” and tap on “Network & Internet”.
    • Tap “Add” and then “Next” when asked “Don’t have a SIM card?”.
    • Scan your Airhub eSIM QR code when requested.
    • Go back to “Network & Internet” and tap on “Mobile Network” to choose which eSIM you want to use.
    • Turn on the data roaming option upon arriving at your destination.
  • Option 2: Add your eSIM manually
    • If your QR code is not working, you must add it manually by doing the following.
    • Go to “My eSIMs” on the app or website and look for the “Manual Installation” details.
    • Go to “Settings” and then to “Network & Internet”.
    • Tap “Add” and then “Next” when asked “Don’t have a SIM card?”.
    • Introduce your eSIM code manually.
    • Turn on your eSIM by going back to “Network & Internet” on the “Mobile Network” menu.
    • Turn on the data roaming option when arriving at your destination.

Error message when activating eSIM

When installing your Airhub eSIM, you might get a pop-up message with an error. If this is your case, here’s what you need to do:

  • Check to see if you have space for a new eSIM profile. If not, delete the ones you’re not using.
  • Ensure your WiFi or mobile internet connection is stable.
  • If your eSIM was successfully installed, you will get an error pop-up message when trying to install it again.

If any of these fixes don’t work for your eSIM, then contact Airhub using the live chat with your purchase email ID.

Airhub eSIM not working after activation

If you successfully installed and activated your eSIM but it’s still not working, chances are either your device or the Airhub service has some underlying issues.

Here are the most common reasons the Airhub eSIM does not work after activation. If these issues persist, you must contact customer support for help or request a refund.

Disconnect from WiFi

If your WiFi connection is turned on and has a stable connection, it will leave the eSIM mobile data aside. So, simply turn off the WiFi connection to avoid any further issues.

Check your data roaming option is turned on

If your eSIM profile is properly activated, you need to check if your data roaming option is turned on. Here’s how to do this:

  • On iPhone, go to “Settings,” then “Mobile/Cellular Service,” choose your Airhub eSIM, and verify the “Data Roaming” toggle is turned on.
  • On Android, go to “Settings,” then “Network & Internet,” choose your eSIM line and verify the “Data Roaming” option is turned on.

Restart your device

When your phone hasn’t restarted, chances are there are some underlying errors happening in the system, and you’ll need to restart it.

Before restarting your device, you can try turning the airplane mode on and off. If this fix doesn’t work, simply restart your device and check if the issue is fixed.

Check your data usage

If you’re using an Airhub limited data plan and it stopped working, chances are you ran out of data. To verify if there’s any data left on your eSIM plan, go to the Airhub app or website and check the data usage.

If you run out of data, you can purchase a top-up or a new eSIM plan, depending on your needs.

Reset your network settings

If none of the previous fixes worked, you’ll need to reset your network settings. With this, you’ll “reset” all your previous network connections, including WiFi and Bluetooth, and will leave your phone as good as new. Here’s how to do it:

  • On iOS, go to “Settings,” then “General,” then “Reset,” and choose “Reset Network Settings.”
  • On Android, the process might vary depending on your device. Here’s the general process. Go to “Settings,” then “System/More Connectivity Options,” then “Reset WiFi, Mobile Networks, and Bluetooth” and confirm the process.

What if I accidentally deleted my Airhub eSIM?

Unlike other eSIM providers, if you delete the Airhub eSIM, it’s gone forever, as there’s no way to re-install it, as stated in their usage terms.
