In the end, if you want to find an alternative to Belong eSIM, we introduce you to Holafly eSIM, with unlimited data, 5G speeds where available, and 24/7 customer support

Why is your Belong eSIM not working?

eSIM issues are common and usually easy to fix. They are usually caused by simple setup errors, network setting issues, or device compatibility problems.

Here are the main reasons your Belong eSIM may not be working:

  • Incompatible phone: Before installing an eSIM, make sure you have an eSIM-compatible device, which is not locked to another network.
  • Activation error: The eSIM activation process was interrupted or failed to complete.
  • Invalid QR code: The QR code has expired or was already used on another phone.
  • Incomplete setup: The eSIM is installed on your phone, but is turned off or not fully activated.
  • Mobile data is off: Mobile data is switched off in your phone settings.
  • Network connection issues: A weak signal can lead to problems during eSIM installation.
  • Incorrect APN settings: Missing or incorrect Access Point Name (APN) settings are blocking your data.
  • Accidental deletion: The eSIM profile was accidentally deleted from your settings.
  • Outdated software: Your system software or carrier settings need to be updated.

How to fix Belong eSIM Issues

To resolve the Belong eSIM not working issue, you should follow the steps in order. Navigation menus and setting names may differ slightly depending on whether you are using an iPhone or a Samsung device.

1. Check if your device supports Belong eSIM

To see if your device is eSIM compatible:

  • iPhone:Go to Settings > Cellular/Mobile Service. Check if the “Add eSIM” option is available.
  • Samsung: Go to Settings > Connections > SIM manager. Check if the “Add eSIM” option is available.

2. Check if your QR code has expired

Belong QR codes are single-use. If you already scanned it on another device or the timer expired, log into the Belong app to request a replacement.

3. Reinstall the Belong eSIM profile

Delete the current profile (Settings > Cellular / SIM manager), connect to Wi-Fi, and download the eSIM again via the Belong app or email.

4. Restart your phone

Turn your phone off completely, wait 30 seconds, and turn it back on to refresh the network connection.

5. Turn on mobile data and data roaming

Ensure your Belong eSIM is selected as the primary data line and that Mobile Data and Data Roaming are turned ON in settings.

6. Toggle Airplane Mode

Turn Airplane Mode ON in your control panel, wait 15 seconds, and turn it OFF to force a network reconnect.

7. Manually select a local network

Go to Settings > Mobile networks > Network Selection, turn off Automatic, and select Belong (or Telstra) from the list.

8. Update or reset your APN settings

Go to your Access Point Names settings and select Reset to default. If entering manually, set the APN to telstra.internet.

9. Reset your network settings

Go to Settings > General / General management > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This restores all cellular settings without deleting personal data. Keep in mind that this resets all network settings, including Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, so you’ll have to reconnect all devices after resetting the settings.

If your Belong eSIM still does not work, contact Belong Mobile Support to verify your account status. If you need immediate connectivity while traveling, you may also consider alternative providers such as Holafly.
