Lyca roaming plans

Lyca Mobile’s roaming charges vary depending on the zone and whether you’re a Pay Monthly or SIM only customer.

Roam Like Home (for Pay Monthly customers)

Lyca’s Zone 1 includes Roam Like Home destinations (mostly EU roaming). If you’re traveling to any of these as a Pay Monthly customer, you’ll be able to use your plan allowances as you would in the UK for no extra charges. The Unlimited plan has a 30 GB data cap.

If you run out of your call, text, or data allowances, you’ll be charged standard rates for Zone 1:

  • Data: £0.15 per MB
  • Calls to the UK/local numbers/other Zone 1 countries: £0.25 per minute
  • Texts to the UK/local numbers/other Zone 1 countries: £0.23 per SMS

Standard rates (for Pay Monthly customers)

Roam Like Home isn’t available for Zones 2-5, and you’ll have to pay standard rates if you want to use your phone abroad. The table below shows Pay Monthly rates for the remaining 4 zones.

ZoneData (per MB)Call (per minute)Text (per SMS sent)
2£0.3 £0.25 (incoming), £0.8 (outgoing)£0.48
3£0.3£0.6 (incoming), £1.7 (outgoing)£0.48
4£5£0.96 (incoming), £2.25 (outgoing) £0.48
5£15 £2.3 (incoming), £7.5 (outgoing)£0.9

Roaming charges for SIM only plans

These also vary depending on your destination and which zone it falls under. Lyca Mobile only offers data roaming passes for all zones with varying charges. There are no standard data roaming rates.

Important: While Lyca offers data roaming passes for all zones, they don’t cover every destination. For example, you can get data roaming passes for Australia but not for Jersey, which is a part of the same zone (Zone 2). Confirm with Lyca Mobile before travelling to ensure your destination is covered.

If you wish to call or text from any zone on a SIM only plan, you’ll be subject to the same standard rates mentioned in the table above.

The table below displays available roaming add-on packages for certain destinations from each zone.

  2. Enable data roaming in your phone’s settings
  3. Go to your phone’s settings → Mobile data → Turn on roaming
  4. Check APN settings
  5. Buy a roaming add-on (optional)
  6. Via the Lyca Mobile app or website
  7. Monitor your usage
  8. Track your data usage and data balance to avoid unexpected charges
