What is Sky Mobile Business?

Sky Mobile for Business is a SIM-only mobile service that lets companies pool, roll over, and redistribute unused data across their workforce via a central Databank. It launched in 2025 as a dedicated business offering from Sky’s existing mobile infrastructure, and operates as a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) on the O2 network, serving small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the UK.

The business version differs from Sky’s consumer product in how it handles data and account management. Personal Sky Mobile plans roll unused data into an individual Piggybank for that user only, with a three-year expiry. On the business side, that data goes into a shared team Databank instead: any employee who runs out of data draws from it automatically, and it resets after 12 months. Account management is also centralised, with tools for overseeing multiple SIMs and unified billing.

How does Sky Mobile Business work?

Sky Mobile for Business is managed via the My Account portal, where admins handle procurement, billing, and data across the team.

  1. Sign up by contacting Sky Business via their sales line or online.
  2. Pay by Direct Debit, which Sky collects each month.
  3. Add employees by ordering new SIM-only plans.
  4. Assign eSIMs.
  5. Install and activate by having your employee sign in to their Sky account to retrieve a QR code. They scan the code on their mobile, follow the on-screen prompts, and enable data roaming in their device settings before travel.

Sky Business Mobile plans are available as physical SIMs or eSIMs, with data tiers ranging from small base allowances up to unlimited. International roaming via the Roaming Passport Plus pass (£1.67/day ex. VAT) covers over 55 destinations, including the EU/EEA, USA, Australia, and New Zealand, with pay-as-you-go roaming available in 120+ countries.

Can my company use Sky Mobile Business?

Sky Business Mobile is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the UK. It’s for businesses with workforces that rely on 4G/5G mobile data. It’s also a practical fit for teams with variable month-to-month data usage.

The core business needs it addresses are eliminating unused data costs through the Roll & Share Databank, controlling spend via per-line caps and a Price Lock Guarantee against mid-contract price rises, and simplifying administration by consolidating multiple mobile contracts into a monthly bill and dashboard.

Sky Mobile Business review: A breakdown of key features

The sections below cover Sky Business Mobile’s plans, pricing, network coverage, features, support, and refund policy.

1. eSIM plans

Sky Business Mobile offers two plan types for business users, from light usage to data-heavy roles: Flex Plans and Unlimited Plans.

10GB

This tier is for employees with light data needs who primarily use their mobile for emails, messaging, and occasional browsing.

  • Unlimited UK calls and texts
  • 5G-ready connectivity
  • Access to the shared Databank

Best suited for staff in admin or local service roles where heavy video streaming or large file transfers aren’t required.

20GB–50GB

This tier covers standard professional use, providing enough data for frequent video calls, cloud-based tools, and regular off-site work.

  • Unlimited UK calls and texts
  • Roll & Share: unused data rolls over for up to 12 months
  • Flex: change your plan up or down each month

Best suited for sales teams, consultants, or anyone who’s regularly mobile and needs access to tools like Teams or Zoom.

50GB–100GB

This tier is for employees who rely heavily on mobile hotspots, high-resolution media, or large data transfers.

  • 5G connectivity
  • Unlimited UK calls and texts
  • Ability to share excess data with lower-tier team members via the Databank

Best suited for field engineers, digital marketers, or site managers who regularly upload large files on the go.

Unlimited

This tier removes the need to track data usage.

  • 5G speeds
  • Unlimited data, calls, and texts

Best suited for frequent travellers who want usage certainty without restrictions. Just note that unused data from unlimited plans cannot be rolled into the team Databank.

2. Pricing

Sky Business Mobile publishes standard pricing for small teams, with monthly rates starting at £11 (excl. VAT) for a 36-month contract on the 10GB tier. The service operates on a postpaid billing model, with fixed monthly costs billed per plan and managed via the centralised online account portal.

Note that several factors can affect the final monthly cost:

  • Contract length: 12, 24, or 36 months, with lower rates on longer commitments
  • Existing customer status: businesses already on Sky Business broadband or TV receive a 25% discount on the monthly mobile tariff
  • Number of SIMs: teams of more than 10 lines require a custom quote
  • Out-of-plan usage: international roaming outside Roaming Passport Plus destinations incurs additional charges

The following prices apply to 24-month contracts (excl. VAT):

DataPricing (GBP)
10GB£13/mo
20GB£16/mo
50GB–100GB£18–£20/mo
Unlimited£35/mo

For current rates or a quote for larger teams, visit the Sky Business website.

3. Network coverage

Sky Business Mobile runs on the O2 (Telefónica UK) network, using the same infrastructure as Sky’s consumer mobile service.

For international travel, roaming is structured around the Roaming Passport Plus pass, which activates automatically at £1.67 per day (excl. VAT) when a call is made, a text is sent, or data is used abroad. This pass covers over 55 destinations, including the EU/EEA, USA, Canada, Australia, and South Africa, and allows employees to use their UK data, calls, and text allowances without buying regional bundles. For other destinations, standard rates apply.

On the domestic network, Sky Business Mobile supports 4G/LTE and 5G. Before purchasing, businesses can verify postcode-level coverage using the Sky Business coverage checker.

Customers manage their accounts through the My Account portal, which covers SIM activation, bill access, and Databank management, among others.

6. Refund and cancellation policy

Customers have 30 days from activation to request a money-back guarantee. If you cancel before 3:30 PM on the working day before your scheduled activation date, you’ll get a full refund. Service failure claims (e.g., such as total loss of service) need to be reported within 90 days of the incident, with specific dates and times as supporting evidence.

To request a refund, call 03337 597 590 or email service.b2b@sky.uk. Once approved, refunds are paid to the original bank account within 45 days of your connection ending. If your service is still active, any compensation is usually applied as a credit on your next bill.

Usage charges incurred before cancellation are non-refundable, as are delivery fees and any add-on charges. Compensation is not issued when the fault is outside Sky’s control or when the customer delays resolution. UK businesses retain the statutory 14-day cooling-off period under distance-selling regulations.
