When does my data plan start?
Your plan starts to count down the moment you activate your eSIM by scanning the QR code on your smartphone.
Can I renew or extend the data on my eSIM?
At the moment, you cannot renew the data on your eSIM. However, you can purchase another eSIM if you need more data.
Can I make phone calls and send SMS with eSIM?
The eSIM only allows you to use cellular data, it does not include a local phone number to receive or send calls or SMS.
Can I share data with other devices?
Sharing data is only enabled for specific eSIMs. For example, most Unlimited Data eSIM doesn’t have the sharing data option with other devices. Please check the product page info to clarify whether the eSIM qualifies or not tethering.
How do I set up the eSIM on my device?
After your purchase, we will send a QR code to your email. Either print the QR code or open it on your computer. On your cell phone, go to Settings > Mobile/Cellular Data > Add Data Plan and scan the QR code. Your phone will allow you to set up a specific name to this data plan. You will now be able to switch between your Holafly data plan and the original plan from your provider. The Holafly data plan will only work once you arrive at your destination. Once you land, turn on data roaming on your cellphone settings and activate the Holafly data plan. Check the phone’s user manual for more details on adding a data plan. All eSIM products come with comprehensive set-up instructions.
When will I receive my eSIM?
Once you purchase an eSIM, you will receive it immediately to your email address. You then just need to scan the QR code to activate the SIM. Note that no refunds can be made once you have purchased your eSIM. See our refund policy for more information.
When should I set up my eSIM?
You need WiFi to set up your eSIM so we recommend that you install and activate your eSIM just before your departure. You can also wait until you arrive at your destination to activate the eSIM but remember that you need a prior WiFi connection for the set-up process.
Can I keep my WhatsApp number?
Yes, you will keep your WhatsApp number with all your conversations and contacts. You can use it just like normal.
How can I check my data balance?
You can check how much data you have by going to your device’s data settings. Our support team cannot tell you how much data you have remaining.
How quick is the internet with a Holafly eSIM?
The Holafly eSIM offers maximum speed coverage (4GLTE), so you can enjoy fast internet connection. The speed may be slower in some more remote areas.
How many times can I use my eSIM card?
Your eSIM can only be activated on one device. If you delete the eSIM from your device, you will not be able to reuse it. You cannot scan the QR code on two devices. However, you can share data with another device by setting up a mobile hotspot from your cell phone.
Do I have to activate data roaming on my device?
Yes. To ensure that your eSIM gets the best coverage, you must turn on data roaming on your cellphone’s settings. This will not incur any additional charges, as long as you have already set up the Holafly eSIM.
How can I delete the Holafly eSIM once I’ve used my data?
There is no need to delete the eSIM once you have finished using it. However, if you wanted to, you can do this by going to your phone’s SIM card manager.
What do I do if I delete or lose my eSIM’s QR code?
If you cannot find the code, please contact our 24/7 customer support team at help@holafly.com or our online chat option. We will resend you the code through email.
Can I use my SIM card and Holafly eSIM at the same time?
If you are using an Apple device, you can use your SIM card and your eSIM at the same time. Choose the SIM card for phone calls and SMS, and the Holafly eSIM for cellular data. Please remember that if you leave your SIM card activated, your network provider may apply data roaming charges to receive or make phone calls as well as SMS.
What happens if I use up my data or my days of validity?
If you use all your data or run out of days, your eSIM card will no longer work and you will not be able to connect to the internet.
How do I get a refund?
The eSIM is a digital product. Holafly cannot confirm or verify if you have used the data plan associated with the eSIM card. Therefore, once your eSIM is delivered, we cannot offer a refund. For more information, please see our returns policy.
